Expect a 9/11 attack thanks to the Obama regime

The commander of Pakistan's Taliban has claimed responsibility for a deadly attack on a police academy in Lahore and threatened to attack the United States.

In telephone interviews with several news organizations, Baitullah Mehsud said the Lahore attack was carried out in retaliation for the Pakistani government's support of the U.S. drone attacks in tribal areas bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan.

He also dismissed a $5 million bounty the U.S. put on his head, promising that more attacks were on the way and that the United States could be a target.

Mehsud told the Associated Press that an assault on Washington is coming "soon" and would "amaze" the world.
Voice of America
The antiwar liberals in Washington want to eliminate terms like “war” and “terrorists” because they don’t want to offend any one but Islamic extremists don’t have problem using terms like “war” and “jihad”.

Under President Bush, I wouldn’t have been that concerned about Mehsud’s threat because Bush was listening to phone calls that might be from terrorists. Under President Obama, I would not be surprised if Mehsud’s threat was successful.

I agree with the idea behind endangered species act but many socialist liberals use it as excuse to harm businesses. Add bogus global warming and they really go to town and try to destroy it.

Hip Hop Shoes. Kashi Kicks from $150 to $5,000.

Lets see - rent or your kid’s hip hop sneakers. The Obama regime wants to get it’s nose in more private company business. If some low income family wants to pay whacko prices for shoes rather than paying their rent, they should have that choice. And if they get kicked out for not paying their rent, they can live in the kid’s shoes..

HR1761: Another fix for TARP funds

H.R.1761
Title: To amend the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 to restrict the use of TARP funds for domestic purposes.
Source: Thomas LOC
The Socialist Congress of America is having to fix another oops with the TARP funds. Since no oversight was provided for the TARP funds, the banks used some of the funds overseas. Now the liberals want to be nationalistic.

The media's double standards

The White House was rocked yesterday by claims that the daughter of Joe Biden, the Vice-President, was shown on video snorting cocaine.

The video purports to show Ashley Biden, 27, snorting lines of white powder at a house party in her home state of Delaware.

It surfaced days after Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State, declared that the United States shared the blame for Mexico's violent drug wars. “Our insatiable demand for illegal drugs fuels the drug trade,” Mrs Clinton said on a trip to Mexico.

The video will embarrass Mr Biden, a teetotaller and an outspoken anti-drug crusader who coined the term “drug czar” in 1982 while campaigning for tougher action against illegal drugs.

However, the video is unlikely to undermine his position with President Obama. Mr Obama admitted in his own memoir that he had used marijuana and cocaine - but not heroin - as a youth. “Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though,” he wrote in Dreams from My Father.

When the Bush daughters were caught having a margurita, it was front page stories for days. When Biden’s duaghter is caught snortting lines of cocaine, you have to go to the London Times to find the story..

Beautiful Springtime weather in Chicago

A police car blocks Route 62 at Route 25 in Algonquin on Sunday. Algonquin Road was closed early in the morning to traffic because of heavy snow which created treacherous driving conditions.

The National Weather Service l said that around six inches of snow has accumulated in some areas north of the city, with lesser amounts on the ground as to the south. Strong winds were dumping rain, sleet and snow at up to 45 m.p.h. in Cook County and snow accumulation of up to 3 inches was forecast in Lake County. The weather service warned of hazardous driving conditions due to the slippery roadways.

Obama’s new Afghan policy and the Taliban

Barack Obama has unveiled his administration's new strategy in Afghanistan, including the deployment of an additional 4,000 US troops to train Afghan forces, following a review of policy on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The new strategy includes proposals to counter a persistent Taliban and al-Qaeda campaign that spans the two countries' shared border, and additional development aid for both nations.

However Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder in Islamabad says the speech will not go down well amongst others in Pakistan, where there is considerable anger over drone attacks in the nation's troubled North-West Frontier province.

"Any attempts by the US to try to enlarge the 'theatre of war' into Pakistan is not likely to recived well by the people and the government," he said.
Source: Al Jazeera
Thank you Mr. President for not listening to you antiwar anti-American base.

One theory of Obama’s new Afghan policy is that a lot of the Taliban are just locals that are mad with the US and/or the Afghan government. By protecting and working more closely with the local population, you automatically end up eliminating most of the Taliban. Like in Iraq, the locals fighting the US have many became our friends. But in Afghan according to an Al Jazeera article, the local Taliban may be more afraid of going against the Taliban extremist leaders.

Obama’s “Open for Questions”: What a joke!!!

In the latest instalment of his efforts to dominate every communication channel in existence and bypass the media filter, Barack Obama will take to the "internet" at 11.30am eastern time this morning for what's being billed as an online town hall, called Open For Questions.

A blog has been meanly highlighting some of the more eyebrow-raising ones. (Example: "When will the Obama administration be willing to admit that 9-11 tradegy was an inside job performed by our own United States Government? Also Thermite was proven to be involved, we know terrorists did not have access to that material.")

A selection of questions Obama will answer live -- though, to be honest, the administration isn't even pretending that there won't be an intermediate behind-the-scenes selection stage to make sure he's spared any embarrassment.
Source: UK Guardian

One comment to the article said that Obama did answer the “Smoking Marijuana to stimulate the economy” question.

“Open for Questions” What a joke!!!

It seems Candidate Obama hasn’t realized that he has won and he is now president.

Or Obama does realize he is president and doesn’t like the reality of being president so he went back to being Candidate Obama.

Obama has spent more time on Air Force One going to campaign speeches than he has spent time in the Oval Office.

The Obama regime chose “Open for Questions” questions that would allow Obama to make a campaign speech rather than answering difficult questions like “Were are the long term jobs in his Porkulus Piñata plan?”.

HR1728: The "Prevent Banks Forclosing" Act

H.R.1728
Title: To amend the Truth in Lending Act to reform consumer mortgage practices and provide accountability for such practices, to provide certain minimum standards for consumer mortgage loans, and for other purposes.
Source: Thomas LOC

H.R. 1728, the Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act, features many of the same provisions contained in last year’s House-approved mortgage-reform bill, H.R. 3915. Though NAFCU noted at the time that that bill had good intentions, it pointed out to lawmakers several concerns it had regarding requirements on mortgage disclosures, penalties for steering, a requirement to ensure the borrower has reasonable ability to repay and, among other things, a national standard for assignee and securitizer liability.
One key provision of H.R. 1728 would create a nationwide licensing and registration system for residential mortgage providers, something already included in the 2008 Housing and Economic Recovery Act. NCUA and other federal financial institution regulators are responsible for handling implementation for credit unions, banks and thrifts. Source: nafcunet.org
Is this law designed to help prevent foreclosures or get more low income people loans even if they can’t really afford the loan? That type of bad loans is what got us into the current financial situation.

S.685
Oil Spill Prevention Act of 2009
Title: A bill to require new vessels for carrying oil fuel to have double hulls, and for other purposes.
Source: Thomas LOC
On the anniversary of the Exxon Valdez spill, the liberals have submitted two bills that are billed as preventing spills like the Valdez. The number of tanker spills has decreased greatly since the Valdez. This is more of a touchy feely stunt to mark the anniversary of the Valdez.

On the other hand, the Socialist Congress of America wants to make the delivery of oil more difficult and expense so we will be forced to go with the bogus global warming “green” fuels. The one bill says only double hull tankers would be allowed near US shores. For the moment, it says new tankers but soon any company wanting to do business with the US may have to buy new tankers. US drivers will pay for those tankers with higher oil prices.

Global Warming News: Turn your lights ON for Earth Hour

Turn out. Take action.
Be part of this historic event.
March 28, 2009, 8:30 pm local time
World Wildlife Fund is asking individuals, businesses, governments and organizations around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – Earth Hour – to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate commitment to finding solutions.

Source: Earth Hour
If you believe in global warming, why turn lights off for only one hour? Why turn your lights on at all? Walk around with a candleholder or oil lamp. No! Those pollute. Just walk around in the dark. Liberals are already walking around in the dark.

This is just another liberal touchy feely stunt.

And if you feel global warming is just a socialist redistribution of wealth, make sure you turn on all your lights for Earth Hour.

2009 ARRA (Porkulus Piñata Plan) status: Where are the long term jobs?

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provides significant financial assistance to workers and families hit hard by the economic crisis. In Illinois, a variety of human services programs stand to benefit from this additional funding, including:

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP/Food Stamps)
Low-income Illinois families who are enrolled in SNAP will receive increased monthly assistance under the federal recovery bill. To find out more about SNAP and to apply in person or online visit the DHS website.

Emergency Food
Due to the federal stimulus package, Illinois will receive additional Emergency Food assistance. For more information on the Emergency Food program and to find the food pantry, shelter, or soup kitchen nearest you, visit the DHS website.

Weatherization
The Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP) enables low-income families to permanently reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. IHWAP provides weatherization services such as sealing cracks, insulating attics and walls, repairing and replacing windows and doors, and repairing and cleaning heating systems.

Environment
The ARRA provides billions of dollars to states to clean up former weapon production and energy research sites; improve local water infrastructure and waste disposal facilities; and fund environmental cleanup programs such as Superfund.

Health Care
$59 billion dollars of the ARRA is dedicated to investments and improvements in health care, including funding for cancer, Alzheimer's, heart disease and stem cell research; interoperable health information technology; prevention and wellness programs; and the improvement of National Institutes of Health (NIH) facilities.

Infrastructure
The ARRA provides appropriations for a variety of infrastructure improvements, including broadband access and usage; airport and border security; VA hospitals and medical facilities; Department of Defense facilities; and highway, air and rail transportation systems.

Broadband
The ARRA includes $7.2 billion for competitive grant and loan opportunities aimed at expanding broadband (high-speed Internet/network) in underserved and unserved areas. $4.7 billion will go through the U.S. Department of Commerce and $2.5 billion will pass through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

How does this create long term jobs? If it was just spending that was needed, why didn’t we just give every voter a $100,000?.

Since wind and solar are not 24/7, we will need oil, coal and nuclear power for a long time.

But the Obama regime has been fooled into believing the bogus global warming that they are willing to make us more dependent on foriegn oil.

CARD CHECK: Forcing businesses to unionize

Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) announced Tuesday he will oppose the card-check bill, giving an apparent death blow to the most important bill for organized labor this Congress.

Specter’s dramatic announcement from the Senate floor also has implications for 2010, when he is expected to face difficult challenges from the right and left. He likely won himself some support from business groups with his declaration, but made himself a target for labor.

After his speech, praise immediately began to pour in for Specter from the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other business trade associations lobbying heavily against the bill.

“Manufacturers stand behind Sen. Specter’s decision to vote against EFCA and appreciate his decision to put working men and women, the economy and the nation first,” said former Michigan Gov. John Engler (R), NAM’s president and CEO.

A secret ballot on whether to unionize is better for both sides. The union supporters say there can still be a secret ballot. You just need a majority to openly ask for one. Of course, they won’t be intimidated by management or the union organizers.

Day 64: Obama trying to change us from a democratic republic to a democracy

Today, the President invited everyone to use a new feature on WhiteHouse.gov called "Open for Questions" to ask a question about the economy and rate other questions up or down. Then, on Thursday morning, the President will conduct a special online town hall on the economy and answer some of the most popular questions and the event will be streamed on WhiteHouse.gov.

"Open for Questions" is a new experiment for WhiteHouse.gov, the President’s latest effort to open up the White House and give Americans from around the country a direct line to the Administration.
Source:White House blog

Last night, I asked the question:
"After an infrastructure job like repairing a bridge is done, the jobs are gone. Why aren't you helping small businesses create long term jobs?"

By this morning, 29 liked the question and 22 didn’t like the question.
By this evening, 146 liked the question and 103 didn’t like the question.

Our founding fathers created this country as a democratic republic not a democracy. We vote for people who best represent our beliefs. Those individuals don’t have to listen to us but are suppose to vote on laws that they think are best for our country.

Our founding fathers knew in a true democracy those that yell the loudest win. That is not always the best for the country. The Obama regime sees that republicans and some democrats are not giving them a rubber stamp on their socialist agenda. So they are trying to change us to a democracy figuring if they can get enough Americans whining “give me give me”, they can get their socialist agenda pushed thru Congress.
