White House email about biggest HC whopper

Conservatives upload your videos saying your HC insurance works but there are problems.
From White House email I just got:

Our latest Reality Check video features Vice President Joe Biden addressing the biggest whopper of all: that our health insurance system works just fine and Americans don’t care about reform. Nothing could be further from the truth.

So we’re trying something new. You can help the Vice President debunk this myth by uploading your own video on why reform matters to you. This is an opportunity for Americans of all backgrounds and situations to make the case for reform in your own words.
Click here to submit your video.
So if you think your healthcare insurance is okay and think you there should be tort reform, you should be able to get insurance from different states and such, upload a video.

After you upload the video and verify it is there, take a screen print. Then check in a couple days later and see whether the video is still there and hasn’t been removed.

Note: I got a second White House email at an email address that I did NOT share with the White House.

Cash for Clunkers backlog being handled by FAA and Citigroup people

The Obama regime rants about how bad Citigroup and other financial companies are then uses them to help out with the ineptly designed government program.
The U.S. Transportation Department, billions of dollars behind in paying "cash-for-clunkers" rebates, has hired private contractors and solicited volunteers from the Federal Aviation Administration and its own executive ranks to work overtime to clear the backlog.

Employees of the FAA's air-traffic-control unit were asked to help, but the Transportation Department stressed Friday that essential safety personnel were not diverted from their duties.

A total of 1,200 workers, including about 300 contractors from Citigroup, the financial services giant, are now working seven days a week to review applications and reimburse auto dealers for rebates advanced to customers, officials said.

Planners who expected to sell 250,000 cars in three months are now deluged with nearly twice that many applications seeking more than $2 billion in rebates after less than one month. Only 7 percent of the rebates have been paid, leaving many auto dealers out millions of dollars. Dealers were supposed to be repaid within 10 days.

If the Obama regime and the Socialist Congress of America can’t create a simple “cash for clunkers” program, do you want them to create a national heathcare system?

Global Warming News: predictions or guess

Are we going to destroy economies based on global warming computer model predictions or “what if” guesses?
From Kevin E. Trenberth (Head of the Climate Analysis Section at the National Center for Atmospheric Research):

I have often seen references to predictions of future climate by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In fact, since the last report it is also often stated that the science is settled or done and now is the time for action.

In fact there are no predictions by IPCC at all. And there never have been. The IPCC instead proffers “what if” projections of future climate that correspond to certain emissions scenarios.

There are a number of assumptions that go into these emissions scenarios. They are intended to cover a range of possible self consistent “story lines” that then provide decision makers with information about which paths might be more desirable.

But they do not consider many things like the recovery of the ozone layer, for instance, or observed trends in forcing agents. There is no estimate, even probabilistically, as to the likelihood of any emissions scenario and no best guess.

Even if there were, the projections are based on model results that provide differences of the future climate relative to that today. None of the models used by IPCC are initialized to the observed state and none of the climate states in the models correspond even remotely to the current observed climate.

In particular, the state of the oceans, sea ice, and soil moisture has no relationship to the observed state at any recent time in any of the IPCC models.

There is neither an El NiƱo sequence nor any Pacific Decadal Oscillation that replicates the recent past; yet these are critical modes of variability that affect Pacific rim countries and beyond. The Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation, that may depend on the thermohaline circulation and thus ocean currents in the Atlantic, is not set up to match today’s state, but it is a critical component of the Atlantic hurricanes and it undoubtedly affects forecasts for the next decade from Brazil to Europe.

Moreover, the starting climate state in several of the models may depart significantly from the real climate owing to model errors. I postulate that regional climate change is impossible to deal with properly unless the models are initialized.

I have been saying for a long time that I might believe the global warming wasn’t a scam if I saw some valid GW computer model results. You should be able to feed in data thru 2001 then correctly “predict” the weather from 2001 thru today. Nobody has done that because they can’t.

On the lighter side of the news

Checking gas can level with a lighter while can is inside the car is really “smart”.
A 27-year-old Joliet woman is suffering from second-degree burns after using a lighter to check the fuel level in a gas can she was filling while the can was resting inside her car.

Police officials said the woman drove into a 7-11 gas station at 1609 E. Cass St. at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night and climbed out of her car.

She then placed the gas can on the passenger seat of the vehicle, pulled down the nozzle of the pump, and began filling the can.

About halfway through, the woman ignited a lighter to shine some light on the gas can, apparently to see how full the can was, officials said.

The can ignited from the lighter's flame and exploded, setting the vehicle's interior ablaze, officials said.

After the fire started, the woman pushed the car away from the gas pumps to apparently ensure the fire didn't spread to the gas pumps itself.

Officials said, when police and fire officials arrived on the scene, the car was located about 5-feet from the pumps and was completely engulfed in flames.

The woman was transported from the scene to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet with nonlife threatening injuries to her wrist and thigh, authorities said.

Day 221: How many times has Obama escaped the Oval Office on AF1?

19 states and 12 countries - And Obama has flown on Air Force One to some states multiple times in his first seven months in office.
Seven months after taking the oath of office, President Obama on Sunday began his first vacation, traveling to this tony hideaway for Hollywood stars, the wealthy and the occasional politician.

As the president and his family headed to Martha's Vineyard, a surprise visitor ambled through the press cabin on Air Force One: Bo, the First Dog, along for the vacation.
The Grand Canyon was the final stop for the Obama family on their trip to the West. Earlier, they visited Yellowstone National Park
Michelle Obama with her mom and two kids joined the president in Moscow, and from there went to Italy and Ghana. "As somebody whose father comes from Africa, obviously this visit has been particularly meaningful for me," Obama said.

A source close to the president said the trip was particularly meaningful to Obama for two personal reasons. First, "It t meant a lot to him" to visit the Cape Coast Castle, a former slave port, with his daughters "and to teach them about what happened there."
Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7 (who are out of school for the summer after today) will jet to France with Michelle Obama on Friday to meet up with Barack,
I don’t begrudge the President some vacation time. However with the Obama regime's inept handling of the economic recovery and more people getting laid off, family trips to Martha’s Vineyard, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Paris, Moscow, Ghana are a little much. And don’t forget flying to NYC for a “date”.

Obama is pushing his “green” agenda while flying here and there when most of the trips could have been done from DC or were not needed.

Global Warming News: Weather computer is air polluter

Inaccurate predictions caused need for new weather computer.
A £30m computer for predicting climate change is making the Met Office's Devon headquarters one of Britain's worst public buildings for pollution.

The IBM machine fills two special halls the size of football pitches.

It produces 12,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year, making the building among the worst in a Department of Communities and Local Government table.

The Met Office said it saw the irony of the situation, but the computer was needed for weather predictions.
Source: BBC
Here is a comment about UK’s new weather supercomputer: “The new computer can predict severe weather and storms more accurately”. Which implies predictions of tomorrow’s weather was inaccurate. If you can’t predict tomorrow, how can you predict the end of the millennium? So destroy our economy doing idiotic things like “cap and trade” taxes.

America Attacked During Obamacare Debate by British NHS Army

NHS is a funding black hole that does NOT DELIVER VALUE FOR MONEY.
The onslaught of Brit's running to the defence of the NHS against US attacks during the Obama healthcare reform debate must leave american's wondering what the hells going on, perhaps the NHS is far better than they were led to believe?. However what is missing from the equation is the fact that over 1 million people in Britain ride the NHS gravy train and hence have a vested interest in the continuance of this sacred cow funding black hole that continues to exert a sizeable political force that political parties have little choice but to pander towards to ensure electoral success.

Now, with the debate across the atlantic raging over Obama's proposed healthcare reforms that are generating many criticisms of the NHS as an alternative to the American existing system of healthcare, this has led to an unprecedented avalanche of defence of the NHS with twitter accounts of those that criticise the NHS assaulted by thousands of replies out of the pool of the 1-2 million that profit from the NHS funding black hole that the NHS has become under New Labour.

Politicking aside, the fact of the matter is that the NHS is a funding black hole that does NOT DELIVER VALUE FOR MONEY which operates as a post code lottery primarily primarily between affluent and deprived areas of the country which tends to ensure a large annual cull of those that live in the deprived areas of the country due to the fact that health and GP services in the poorer areas are more akin to those in the third world than the first world as the greater the deprivation observed the greater the tendency to under fund health services in those areas as found in the analysis by the Health Service Journal revealed that "of the budgets allocated to GP's to pay for drugs and hospital care for their patients show that the wealthiest tenth of the population are, on average, more than 2 per cent overfunded while the poorest tenth are 2 per cent underfunded.

One reason some are afraid of Obamacare being rushed in is because it would be difficult to get rid of. The public option being subsidized by the government would kill private heathcare insurance. And once gone, it would be difficult to recreate private heathcare insurance. And once people are on the Obamacare gravy train, they are going to fight killing Obamacare.

Obamacare and Dr. “Death Panel”

Save a 20 yr old or a 60 yr. old. Let the elderly croak. That is the thinking of Dr. “Death Panel”.
Dr. Emanuel, health adviser to President Barack Obama and brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, says that health reform will not be pain free, and that the usual recommendations for cutting medical spending (often urged by the president) are mere window dressing.

Dr. Emanuel is part of a school of thought that redefines a physician’s duty, insisting that it includes working for the greater good of society instead of focusing only on a patient’s needs. Many physicians find that view dangerous, and most Americans are likely to agree.

As he wrote in the Feb. 27, 2008, issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA): "Vague promises of savings from cutting waste, enhancing prevention and wellness, installing electronic medical records and improving quality of care are merely 'lipstick' cost control, more for show and public relations than for true change."

True reform, he argues, must include redefining doctors' ethical obligations. In the June 18, 2008, issue of JAMA, Dr. Emanuel blames the Hippocratic Oath for the "overuse" of medical care: "Medical school education and post graduate education emphasize thoroughness," he writes. "This culture is further reinforced by a unique understanding of professional obligations, specifically the Hippocratic Oath's admonition to 'use my power to help the sick to the best of my ability and judgment' as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of cost or effect on others."

In numerous writings, Dr. Emanuel chastises physicians for thinking only about their own patient's needs. He describes it as an intractable problem: "Patients were to receive whatever services they needed, regardless of its cost. Reasoning based on cost has been strenuously resisted; it violated the Hippocratic Oath, was associated with rationing, and derided as putting a price on life. . . . Indeed, many physicians were willing to lie to get patients what they needed from insurance companies that were trying to hold down costs." (JAMA, May 16, 2007).

In the Lancet, Jan. 31, 2009, Dr. Emanuel and co-authors presented a "complete lives system" for the allocation of very scarce resources, such as kidneys, vaccines, dialysis machines, intensive care beds, and others. "One maximizing strategy involves saving the most individual lives, and it has motivated policies on allocation of influenza vaccines and responses to bioterrorism. . . . Other things being equal, we should always save five lives rather than one.

"However, other things are rarely equal—whether to save one 20-year-old, who might live another 60 years, if saved, or three 70-year-olds, who could only live for another 10 years each—is unclear." In fact, Dr. Emanuel makes a clear choice: "When implemented, the complete lives system produces a priority curve on which individuals aged roughly 15 and 40 years get the most substantial chance, whereas the youngest and oldest people get changes that are attenuated (see Dr. Emanuel's chart nearby).

Dr. Emanuel concedes that his plan appears to discriminate against older people, but he explains: "Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination. . . . Treating 65 year olds differently because of stereotypes or falsehoods would be ageist; treating them differently because they have already had more life-years is not."
Source: Wall Street Journal
Hippocratic Oath says “never do harm”. The Obama regime, the Socialist Congress of America and Dr. “Death Panel” will revise the Hippocratic Oath to say “never do harm unless it costs too much then let’em croak”.

The Hippocratic Oath also says:
I will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked, nor will I advise such a plan; and similarly I will not give a woman a pessary to cause an abortion.

Obamacare and UK’s NHS blunders kills 72,000 patients a year

A SHOCKING 72,000 patients a year are being killed by safety blunders in the NHS, a report by MPs reveals today.

It is more than SIX times higher than the official estimate of 11,000 deaths or serious injuries a year.

But the MPs said thousands of incidents are never reported.

Those on the Commons health select committee found "significant failings in the existing NHS safety policies and demanded more action to protect patients.

The report follows the Mid Staffordshire Trust scandal where hundreds of patients died "unnecessarily".

The MPs also criticised the way patients and families faced "lengthy and distressing litigation to obtain justice and compensation."

They said it was "appalling" a new simpler compensation arrangement was still not in place - three years after the laws to create it were passed.

Obamacare will soon run out of money. We will have doctors, nurses and hospitals overloaded. If you thought malpractice suits were bad now, just wait.

Obamacare and UK’s NHS maternity ward shortages

Thousands of women are having to give birth outside maternity wards because of a lack of midwives and hospital beds.

The lives of mothers and babies are being put at risk as births in locations ranging from lifts to toilets - even a caravan - went up 15 per cent last year to almost 4,000.

Health chiefs admit a lack of maternity beds is partly to blame for the crisis, with hundreds of women in labour being turned away from hospitals because they are full.
Latest figures show that over the past two years there were at least:

63 births in ambulances and 608 in transit to hospitals;

117 births in A&E departments, four in minor injury units and two in medical assessment areas;

115 births on other hospital wards and 36 in other unspecified areas including corridors;

399 in parts of maternity units other than labour beds, including postnatal and antenatal wards and reception areas.

Additionally, overstretched maternity units shut their doors to any more women in labour on 553 occasions last year.

Because of malpractice suits, there are already shortages of obstetricians. Obamacare will run out of money very quickly and the shortage like UK’s will be our shortages.

Obamacare/Kennedycare: it still stinks

Using someone’s death to “buy” votes is very sad.
Democrats are hoping that the memory of Sen. Ted Kennedy will revive the Democratic Party's flagging push for health care reform.

You've heard of 'win one for the Gipper'? There is going to be an atmosphere of 'win one for Teddy,'" Ralph G. Neas, the CEO of the liberal National Coalition on Health Care, told ABC News.

Democrats are hoping that Kennedy's influence in death may be even stronger than it was when he was alive as they push for President Obama's top domestic priority. Democratic officials hope that invoking Kennedy's passion for the issue will counter slippage in support for heatlh care reform.

"Ted Kennedy's dream of quality health care for all Americans will be made real this year because of his leadership and his inspiration," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a statement.

The people don’t like Obamacare so it looks like it will not pass. Then Ted Kennedy dies and the liberals gleefully are using his death to pressure blue dog democrats into voting for socialized healthcare.

If you live in the district of a blue dog democrat, contact them and say you won't vote for them if they vote for Obamacare.

Report Shows Tight C.I.A. Control on Interrogations

Two 17-watt fluorescent-tube bulbs? Constant white noise as load as a toilet flushing. Such extreme torture.
Two 17-watt fluorescent-tube bulbs — no more, no less — illuminated each cell, 24 hours a day. White noise played constantly but was never to exceed 79 decibels. A prisoner could be doused with 41-degree water but for only 20 minutes at a stretch.

The Central Intelligence Agency’s secret interrogation program operated under strict rules, and the rules were dictated from Washington with the painstaking, eye-glazing detail beloved by any bureaucracy.

The first news reports this week about hundreds of pages of newly released documents on the C.I.A. program focused on aberrations in the field: threats of execution by handgun or assault by power drill; a prisoner lifted off the ground by his arms, which were tied behind his back; another detainee repeatedly knocked out with pressure applied to the carotid artery.

But the strong impression that emerges from the documents, many with long passages blacked out for secrecy, is by no means one of gung-ho operatives running wild. It is a portrait of overwhelming control exercised from C.I.A. headquarters and the Department of Justice — control Bush administration officials say was intended to ensure that the program was safe and legal..

Six night lights shining 24 hours a day – such torture.
White noise as loud as a toilet flushing constant for 24 hours a day, such torture.
41-degree water for 20 minutes at a stretch would be tough. But if you knew it would end in 20 minutes, is it torture?

The aberrations were wrong and most were dealt with when found out. But even some of those, are they torture? Putting an unloaded gun to someone’s head and pulling the trigger. The terrorist wouldn't know that the gun was empty. But is that torture?

Obamacare and rushing out untested swine flu shots

Will the Obama’s girls get the untested swine flu shots?
Up to half of the population of the U.S. could come down with the H1N1 virus and 90,000 could die this season, according to a dire report from the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

The report, which claims as many as 1.8 million people could end up in the hospital seeking treatment for the H1N1 virus, comes as government officials push drug companies to make a vaccine available next month.

“It’s a plausible scenario that we need to be prepared for,” said Marty Cetron, the Center for Disease Control’s director of the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine.

The report says that under a worst-case scenario, between 60 and 120 million Americans could get sick with the swine flu and another 30 million could contract the virus but not show symptoms. Between 30,000 and 90,000 could die — more than twice the annual average of deaths associated with the seasonal flu. Those deaths generally occur in people older than 65.

The H1N1 virus is “unusual” however, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said, because it tends to affect children and young adults more harshly than others and “hasn’t yet affected seniors.”

The report says the skyrocketing infections will peak on Oct. 15 — the exact date a vaccine is expected to be delivered. The White House advisors suggest backing up the vaccine date by a full month — meaning a vaccine and dosage that is still being tested would be used.

“Trying to rush in with an unknown, with an untested quantity of vaccine doesn’t appeal to me at all,” said Vanderbilt University’s William Schaffner.

The council recommended that manufacturers begin to package the vaccine so that it could be used by those that are at high risk in September. All five manufacturers have already been asked by the government to bottle the vaccine when it’s ready.

But health officials announced a delay in the vaccine production last week. Originally, the government expected 120 million doses to be available on Oct. 15, but it now estimates there will only be 45 million, with 20 million more each week through December.

The report calls the H1N1 virus a “serious threat to our nation and the world.” “We’re going to have people hospitalized and we will, unfortunately, have more deaths,” Sebelius said. Many H1N1 virus experts view the numbers as reasonable.

“This looks like reasonable estimates and consistent with how pandemic viruses act,” said Greg Poland of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

“My reaction is that the numbers, although scary, may be quite accurate,” said Joan Nichols of the University of Texas, Galveston.

Others are more skeptical: “These speculations have no firm scientific basis, only a historical precedent from almost a 100 years ago and epidemiologic data from recent circulating virus patterns,” said UCLA’s Peter Katona. “Viruses have a mind of their own, and we will have to just see what happens.”

The Obama regime and the Socialist Congress of America are using the swine flu to scare people into wanting national healthcare. Every year, there are 30,000 flu deaths. They expect 30,000 deaths from swine flu.

And in order to scare you more, they are rushing out the swine flu vaccine. If you, your kids or your parents get the rushed untested shot, it may be under strength and will not stop you from getting the flu. If the rushed untested shot is over strength, the shot may give you the flu. Will any democrat have their kids go first in getting these untested flu shots?
