Peoria police are searching for a man they say ran down his 20-year-old daughter in a parking lot for becoming “too 'westernized’ and ... not living according to their traditional Iraq values.”
Noor Faleh Almaleki of Surprise was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. Another woman, Amal Edan Khalaf, 43, of Surprise also was struck and is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives from the Peoria Police Violent Crimes Unit, after talking with family and friends, learned Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, of Glendale was the driver, and that he is the father of Noor Faleh Almaleki. Those interviewed also told police he was with her as she had become too "westernized” and had made threats toward her.

(a) Requirement- Section 141(b) of title 13, United States Code, is amended by striking `United States.' and inserting `United States, and shall tabulate the total number of persons in each State.'.
(b) Prohibition- Section 141(a) of such title 13 is amended by striking `as necessary.' and inserting `as necessary, except that in no event may the Secretary include any question or otherwise elicit any information regarding United States citizenship or immigration status.'.
(c) Rule of Construction- Nothing in this Act shall be considered to permit or require the exclusion, from any decennial census of population, of--
(1) any person on the basis of age;
(2) personnel in the Armed Forces serving abroad;
(3) Federal employees (and their dependents) stationed abroad; or
(4) any other persons outside of the United States (besides those under paragraph (2) or (3)) who can be traced to the State of their usual place of residence, as determined by the Secretary of Commerce.

Slams Wall Street’s salaries while attending $15,200 per person fundraiser.
President Barack Obama challenged Wall Street to embrace his proposed financial regulations at a New York City fundraiser Tuesday night.
Obama criticized the "reckless speculation and deceptive practices and short-sightedness and self-interestedness from a few." The audience included members of the Wall Street community.
Banks and other financial institutions have fought the proposed regulations, including one for a Consumer Protection Financial Agency. Obama has insisted the agency is necessary to prevent another economic collapse.
"So if there are members of the financial industry in the audience today, I will ask that you join with us in passing what are necessary reforms -- don’t fight them, join us on it," Obama said at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) fundraiser.
The dinner and a second fundraiser were expected to raise between $2 million and $3 million for the DNC. At the dinner, tickets went for $15,200 per person and $30,400 per couple.
The president was criticized earlier in the week for taking Wall Street's money as his administration criticized the practices of financial institutions.
"It will be good for the financial industry to have a level playing field in which everybody knows the rules and everybody knows that the rules will be enforced," Obama said. "And people are competing not by how confusing you can make things, and how to avoid rules, but competing because you're offering innovative good products that are helping grow the American economy and put people to work out on main street."

Financial and other Wall Street companies are not social agencies. They are “for profit” companies. Only the stockholders or other owners should set the salaries of upper management. Those salaries are none of the business of Obama, Barney Frank or the other socialists.

1) Known “Do Not Resuscitate” (DNR) status per 64J-2.018, Florida Administrative Code
2) Severe and irreversible chronic neurologic condition with persistent coma or vegetative state.
3) Acute severe neurologic event with minimal chance of functional neurologic recovery (physician judgment.) This includes traumatic brain injury, severe hemorrhagic stroke, hypoxic ischemic brain injury, and intracranial hemorrhage.
4) Severe acute trauma with a Revised Trauma Score < 2. (See Appendix 2)) GCS: _______ SBP: _______ RR: _______ RTS: _______
5) Severe burns with < 50% anticipated survival (patients identified as “Low” or worse on the Triage Decision Table for Burn Victims (Appendix 4) . 6) Cardiac arrest not responsive to ACLS interventions within 20-30 minutes.

8) Known chromosomal or untreatable disorders that are uniformly fatal in the first 2 years of life.

To prohibit discrimination in adoption or foster care placements based on the sexual orientation, gender identification, or marital status of any prospective adoptive or foster parent. This Act may be cited as the `Every Child Deserves a Family Act'.
An entity that receives Federal assistance and is involved in adoption or foster care placements may not--
(A) categorically deny to any person the opportunity to become an adoptive or a foster parent solely on the basis of the sexual orientation, gender identification, or marital status of the person;
(B) delay or deny the placement of a child for adoption or into foster care, or otherwise discriminate in making a placement decision, solely on the basis of the sexual orientation, gender identification, or marital status of any prospective adoptive or foster parent; or
(C) deny or limit the parental rights of an adoptive parent based on the adoptive parent's sexual orientation, gender identification, or marital status.

A normal married family of a man and a woman is the best for an adopted kid. Occasionally a normal married family has trouble so other parents may be better for the adopted child.

(B) under which health insurance issuers would offer health insurance coverage meeting the requirements of this subsection under a unified regulatory structure to residents of the States that are parties to the compact.

Shekar Narasimhan and the Temple provided sweets to attendees, who included folks from the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, members of Congress, and dignitaries; included in the audience were Wat Misaka, the NBA’s first non-white basketball player (New York Knicks) who also served in World War Two, fusion music artist DJ Rekha, Vinai Thummalapally (US Ambassador to Belize), and Indian Ambassador to the United States, Meera Shankar.

Over the last nine months, we have sent more Cabinet members to this region than almost anywhere in the country -- not just to make appearances, but to listen, and to learn, and help you move forward. As we've continued this recovery effort, I've made it clear that we're not going to tolerate the usual turf wars between agencies. So we've prioritized coordination between all levels of government. We put in place innovative review and dispute resolution programs to get projects moving forward quickly. We've freed up over $1.5 billion in recovery and rebuilding assistance that had been tangled up in red tape for years.
And this assistance is allowing us to move forward together with projects that were stalled across the Gulf Coast -- projects rebuilding and improving schools; investing in public health and safety; repairing broken roads and bridges and buildings. Orange County, Fla. Circuit Judge Daniel Dawson has ordered 17 year old Rifqa Bary to be returned to Ohio which she fled July 19 this year. Rifqa, a Muslim convert to the Christian faith cited fear of abuse and/or death at the hands of her Islamic parents, who she claims are fundamentalists. Ms. Bary specifically maintains that her father had already administered beatings and threatened to kill her upon learning of her conversion, saying "[he] said he would kill me or send me back to Sri Lanka," [where] they have asylums where they put people like me."
Whether or not radical Islam supports what are known as "honor killings," the U.N. estimates that approximately 5,000 are slaughtered every year in the "ritual." Honor killing, as we examined before, is defined as an ancient tradition, still sometimes observed; a male member of the family (usually a father or brother in a Muslim family) kills a female relative for tarnishing the family image, hence restoring the families’ "honor."
While the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) concluded in its "investigation" that there appeared to be no immanent threat to Rifqa Bary's life, other seasoned law enforcement officials disagree. John D. Guandolo, 12 ? year veteran of the FBI, reviewing the case at the request of the Center for Security Policy determined, "authoritative Islamic Law texts officially translated into English allow that individual apostates cannot be killed for a 'quiet desertion of personal Islamic duties,' but can be put to death as 'just punishment' when the apostate deserts Islam publicly."

"Rush was to be a limited partner—as such, he would have had no say in the direction of the club or in any decisions regarding personnel or operations," Mr. Checketts, owner of the NHL's St. Louis Blues, said in a statement released Wednesday. "This was a role he enthusiastically embraced. However, it has become clear that his involvement in our group has become a complication and a distraction to our intentions; endangering our bid to keep the team in St. Louis. As such, we have decided to move forward without him and hope it will eventually lead us to a successful conclusion."
