To get the callers to talk about more about the issues, he said just say dittos to indicate they agree with him.
A right-wing radio host said to be the de facto leader of the Republican Party has been taken to hospital suffering from chest pains.
Rush Limbaugh, 58, who is notorious for cajoling and inflaming the largest talk-radio audience in America, was taken to hospital in Honolulu in an ambulance.
Paramedics were called yesterday afternoon to the Kahala Hotel and Resort in Hawaii. KITV, a local television channel, reported that Limbaugh was in "serious condition" when he arrived at the hospital.
A spokesman for his conservative radio programme said: “Rush was admitted to and is resting comfortably in a Honolulu hospital today after suffering chest pains. Rush appreciates your prayers and well wishes.”

When I heard about Rush being hospitalized, I checked the Democrat Underground forums and Twitter. As expected, the nutbags at DU were gleeful at the thought of Rush dying.
Since Rush was at the hospital that was where Obama was supposedly born, one of the common comments was whether Rush’s listeners would believe Rush’s death certificate issued by the hospital.
Since some conservatives questioned why Obama was vacationing in Hawaii, liberals have the right to question “Why the heck is Rush vacationing in Hawaii?”. But then they were making comments like “How dare Rush visit Hawaii at the same time as Obama?”. Also, there were DU comments like Rush shouldn’t even be allowed to go to Hawaii.
Veto allows funds to transfer Gitmo guests to the US.
The enactment of H.R. 3326 (Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2010, Public Law 111-118), which was signed into law on December 19, 2009, has rendered the enactment of H.J.Res. 64 (Continuing Appropriations, FY 2010) unnecessary. Accordingly, I am withholding my approval from the bill. (The Pocket Veto Case, 279 U.S. 655 (1929)).
To leave no doubt that the bill is being vetoed as unnecessary legislation, in addition to withholding my signature, I am also returning H.J.Res. 64 to the Clerk of the House of Representatives, along with this Memorandum of Disapproval.

ACORN: The CR would prohibit funds from this or any prior law from being provided to Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) or its affiliates. This provision would expire on December 23, 2009.
Fannie and Freddie Loan Limits: The CR Extends temporary higher limits on the size of mortgages the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) may insure, which were increased from $625,500 to $730,000 in the "stimulus" bill.
Guantanamo Bay Detainees: The CR contains a prohibition on funds from this or any previous Act from being used to release a detainee from the Guantanamo Bay detention facility into the U.S. In addition, the provision prohibits funds from being used to transfer a detainee until at least two months after the President releases a plan including an analysis of the national security risk of transferring the detainee, the cost of not transferring the detainee, the legal rational for the transfer, a certification by the President that the transfer risks have been mitigated, and a certification that the President has contacted the Governor of the State where the detainee would be transferred.

A group calling itself Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula has said it was behind the failed attempt by a Nigerian man to bomb a US aircraft on Christmas day.
The group said in statements posted on the internet on Monday that the attempt had been carried out to avenge US operations in Yemen.
"We tell the American people that since you support the leaders who kill our women and children ... we have come to slaughter you [and] will strike you with no previous [warning]," the statement said.
"Our vengeance is near."

Last night I was trying to get an update on Rush Limbaugh’s condition and the Ed show was on. Ed Schultz was whining that the republicans were making a big deal of the Undies Bomber.
Like other socialists, he was using alleged and attempted to downgrade the latest Islamic terrorist attack. The above story shows he was not an isolated nut. The guy ended up in the hospital so it clear he exploded his bomb. It was NOT alleged and NOT attempted.

Mr. Obama eliminated a rule put in place by former President George W. Bush in 2003 that allowed the leader of the intelligence community to veto decisions by an interagency panel to declassify information. Instead, spy agencies who object to such a decision will have to appeal to the president.
The intelligence community knows better that some politicized interagency panel whether some intelligence document should remain secret. The Obama administration and the Socialist Congress of America don’t care about our national security.

Ricardo Dominguez describes himself an "artivist" -- a cross between an artist and activist -- and he calls his newest act of civil disobedience a "Transborder Immigrant Tool."
It's a cheap Motorola cell phone retrofitted with GPS technology. Dominguez, an associate professor of new media arts at the University of California, San Diego, hopes to get the tool into the hands of people making the treacherous crossing of the U.S.-Mexico border on the so-called Devil's Highway.
"It's designed to save lives. It's not going to promote the crossing or stop the crossing," says Dominguez, 50, who developed the technology with other researchers at the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology.
In terms of the civil disobedience we follow, we consider the right of safe passage to be a trans-global right," he adds. "What happens once an immigrant gets here, that's a national discussion."

It was a standard multiple-entry tourist visa.
As you point out, on November 19, his father came into the Embassy in Nigeria in Abuja and expressed his concerns about his son. And at that point, another part of the process that the State Department has a role in --

MR. KELLY: November 19.
QUESTION: No, no, no, in London. When did he get the visa?
MR. KELLY: It was June 16, I believe.
QUESTION: 2008?
MR. KELLY: 2008, yeah. And it was valid for two years. It was good till June 2010.

Did media/blogs give Al Qaeda ideas on next attack?
On August 28, the Saudi Arabian deputy minister of interior, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, survived a bombing attack launched by an al Qaeda cell based in Yemen, Saudi Arabia's southern neighbor.
Abdullah Hassan al Asiri, the would-be assassin, a Saudi who had fled to Yemen, posed as a militant willing to surrender personally to Prince Nayef.
Because he leads Saudi Arabia's counterterrorism efforts against al Qaeda, the prince is a key target for the terrorist group.
Al Asiri concealed the bomb, made of PETN, in his underwear, according to the official Saudi investigation.
PETN is a plastic explosive that is not picked up by metal detectors -- through which the would-be assassin had to pass before he was allowed to meet with the prince.
Saudi officials believe that the prince's assailant exploded the 100-gram device using a detonator with a chemical fuse, which would also not be detected by a metal detector.
When the bomb went off in Prince Nayef's Jeddah home it killed the assassin, but the prince survived the attack, sustaining only minor injuries.
"I believe that, after the attack on the prince, the fear of using similar techniques against airplanes, which was discussed openly in the media, has encouraged al Qaeda cells to try it," a Saudi counterterrorism official said,
PETN was also used by Richard Reid, an al Qaeda recruit known as the shoe bomber. He concealed a bomb made of PETN in his sneakers when he tried to bring down an American Airlines flight flying from Paris, France, to Miami, Florida, almost exactly eight years ago during the busy holiday travel season.

With Dem’s 60 Senate votes, GOP can’t stop Obama’s Nominees.
Almost every day, the news releases go up on the White House Web site and go out to reporters: “President Obama announces more key administration posts,” they read.
Trouble is, many of those administration posts are being held up in the Senate in a political do-si-do that is traditional on Capitol Hill but seems to have become more tangled than ever in partisanship.
Of the 200 or so Obama nominations pending, some 75 have gotten through committee but were being held up for various reasons in the Senate, administration officials and Congressional staff members said. During their last gasps of official business after the health care vote on Thursday morning, senators cleared 35 nominees by unanimous consent — far short of the 60 that administration officials had been hoping to get through by the end of the year.

Yes, the GOP are putting holds and objections to Obama’s nominations but the Dims can override the holds and objections.
Holds do not stop a nomination but the nomination approval takes a longer time. The Socialist Congress of America wanted to spend the Senate's time on ramming the asinine Obamacare down the people's throat rather than dealing Obama's nominations. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac helped cause our current economic situation.
Shares of mortgage finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac soared Monday after the Treasury Department announced what essentially amounts to a blank check for their bailouts.
Treasury lifted a $200 billion limit on the amount it was ready to pump into each of the two mortgage firms after the markets closed Thursday. Fannie Mae (FNM, Fortune 500) shares leapt 21% Monday to $1.27, while shares of Freddie Mac (FRE, Fortune 500) jumped 27% to $1.60.
While the support from Treasury would appear to be a vote of confidence for the firms, the companies' leaders apparently have no interest in owning the stocks themselves.
According to pay packages disclosed for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac on Thursday, no stock or options are being issued to any of their top managers. That is unusual for shareholder-owned companies.

The chief executive officers of each company got annual pay packages worth $6 million apiece, while other top execs pulled in at least $2 million.
Fannie Mae (FNM, Fortune 500) CEO Michael Williams, who was promoted to CEO on April 21, will receive about $4.2 million in base salary and deferred cash payments for his time in the top job. The filing does not detail how much he was paid for his time as chief operating officer before his promotion, or what he will earn in 2010.
David Johnson, the chief financial officer and No. 2 at the company, was paid at a $3.5 million annual rate. The annual pay rate of five other top Fannie executives topped $2 million apiece.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac helped give mortgages to lower incomes people that should have not gotten loans. It was only a matter of time before enough of those loans went bad causing the economic crisis.
With at least 25 more possible bombers, Obama and Napolitano need to take this really serious.
FAILED plane bomber Umar Abdulmutallab has bragged to FBI agents that there are more young men plotting to launch attacks on the West. The 23-year-old Nigerian has told security chiefs of a sinister network in Yemen who are ready and waiting to strike.
The reports come after The Sun revealed that cops fear that 25 British-born Muslims are plotting to bomb Western airliners. The fanatics, in five groups, are now training at secret terror camps in Yemen. It was there London-educated Abdulmutallab prepared for his Christmas Day bid to blow up a US jet.
The British extremists in Yemen are in their early 20s and from Bradford, Luton and Leytonstone, East London. They are due to return to the UK early in 2010 and will then await internet instructions from al-Qaeda on when to strike.
A Scotland Yard source said: "The great fear is Abdulmutallab is the first of many ready to attack planes and kill tens of thousands. "We know there are four or five radicalised British Muslim cells in the Yemen.

In order to not offend Muslims, Obama used the words alleged and attempted in his comments today about the Delta bomb incident. Abdulmutallab was burned so it was NOT alleged and NOT attempted. Abdulmutallab exploded his bomb. If Obama had the courage to be truthful, part of his comments should have been: “Muslim terrorist Abdulmutallab exploded a bomb aboard the Delta flight last week but fortunately it did not kill anyone or seriously damage the plane.”
While the Delta Christmas flight was more dangerous, there are disruptions every week.
Investigators have found no evidence that the man arrested for allegedly trying to blow up a US airliner on Friday was part of a larger plot, a senior US official has said.
Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a 23-year-old Nigerian, is accused of trying to detonate explosives attached to his body as the plane began its descent into Detroit on Christmas Day.
But while investigators are continuing to probe any suspected links between Abdulmutallab and al-Qaeda, the US homeland security chief said on Sunday there was no evidence to suggest any links to a wider plot.
"Right now, we have no indication that it is part of anything larger," Janet Napolitano told the CNN news network.
"But obviously the investigation continues. And we have instituted more screening and what we call mitigation measures at airports."
Her comments came as another man, also a Nigerian national, was briefly detained by US authorities after triggering a security scare on the same Detroit-bound flight involved in Friday's incident.
Officials say the man had spent an unduly long time in the plane's lavatory, raising concern among the crew.
But the FBI who questioned the man said later he had apparently become ill mid-flight, and upon investigation, the incident had been deemed "non-serious."
An initial FBI analysis found the device used by Abdulmutallab contained PETN, also known as pentaerythritol, one of the explosives carried by the so-called "shoe bomber" Richard Reid in his failed attempt to blow up a US airliner just before Christmas in 2001.

Just heard an airline pilot say there are incidences with Muslims on US flights every week and the airlines are covering it up. He talked about one of his flights where 11 arabs/muslims were on board. They were changing seats, texting each other and taking videos of the cockpit door. The pilot tried to have two of them removed. The gate agents talked to the two and told the crew there was no problem. (The two threatened to sue for racial profiling.) The crew said they would not fly if the two got back on. The crew’s bosses said fine we will get a new flight crew.
The pilot said that Muslims will go regularly into the plane’s restroom and shave off their body hair which suicide bombers do before they killing themselves.
Also, do search on Airtran 297 and you get conflicting stories of Middle Eastern men that were taking pictures, wouldn't sit down, and a couple of them were making gestures with their hands as though they were shooting people..
Islamic extremists are using our liberal’s love of political correctness to their advantage to attack America. PETN and nitroglycerin in a syringe is not something the average guy can get. It took an organized group to get the explosives.

But when you are commander in chief, the White House has a way of finding you anyway.

Obama excused himself to get on a secure telephone line installed just for his visit in case of emergencies like this.
The foiled attack on a jet bound for Detroit served as a reminder, in case one was needed, that a president can never completely check out of the day job, particularly in the post-Sept. 11 era. The federal government moves vast quantities of staff and equipment to make sure that a president can do the job anywhere.
But the optics of presidential vacations are trickier, particularly in a time of war and economic trouble.
Even if the Northwest Airlines passenger had not tried to set off explosives, at a time when 30,000 more troops have been ordered to Afghanistan and one in 10 Americans is out of work, Obama risked sending an incongruent message by spending 10 days in a five-bedroom, 7,000-square-foot beachfront estate that rents for $4,000 a night and is on the market for $8.9 million.
“The president works hard day in and day out, and the American people recognize that,” said Bill Burton, a White House spokesman. “And I think the American people also recognize that it makes sense for the commander in chief to recharge his batteries, even though he's never fully off duty.”

Since the Obama family have been celebrating the Christmas holiday in Hawaii for years, I don’t have a problem with them going to Hawaii instead of staying “home” or Camp David. For security reasons, a hotel room would cost the taxpayer the same as the secluded Hawaiian beachfront getaway.
As far as Bill Burton’s comment, Obama has escaped the Oval Office every chance he could. Since taking office, the Obama family has taken 17 “vacations”.
Bary thinks her Muslim father will kill her for converting to Christianity.
Attorneys for Fathima Rifqa Bary and her parents haven't agreed on much, but they have settled a couple of small matters in the case of the 17-year-old runaway.
They have agreed that all mail to Rifqa from people who aren't relatives will be reviewed by her guardian ad litem, the attorney appointed by the court to represent her interests, to "ensure that no inappropriate messages are forwarded to Ms. Bary."
They also have agreed that Rifqa cannot have any contact with Blake Lorenz, Beverly Lorenz or Brian Williams until her counselor determines whether it would be in her best interest.
The Lorenzes are pastors in Florida whom Rifqa stayed with when she ran away. Authorities have said that Williams, an evangelical in his 20s who baptized Rifqa, drove her to the Greyhound bus station in Columbus when she ran away from home in July.
Rifqa, a New Albany High School student, said she left her Northeast Side home because her father, Mohamed Bary, threatened to kill her for converting from Islam to Christianity. Mr. Bary denies the accusation, and authorities in Ohio and Florida have found that she was not in danger.
A dependency case to determine where Rifqa should live is making its way through Franklin County Juvenile Court, where the attorneys frequently file motions on minute details of Rifqa's life and activities.
For instance, Omar Tarazi, the attorney for Mr. Bary and his wife, Aysha, had asked that third-party messages to Rifqa be reviewed by Franklin County Children Services, which has custody of the girl. He was concerned about letter-writing campaigns to Rifqa publicized on blogs that malign Islam.
That resulted in the agreement to have her guardian look at them. The magistrate's order says "incoming mail" but does not specify whether that includes e-mail.
